ABOUT EMILIO

Emilio Alejandro Medrano Cruz, born on July 5, 1997, in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, demonstrated a deep connection with music from an early age. At 10, he began his piano studies, inspired by virtuosos like Richard Clayderman, Raúl Di Blasio, and Yanni, as well as masters of film and video game composition such as Koji Kondo, Alan Menken, and Yasunori Mitsuda.
His solid academic background was forged at institutions including Colegio APEC Fernando Arturo de Meriño and the National Conservatory of Music of D.R, complemented by advanced studies through Berklee Online and virtual masterclasses with prominent professionals.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Medrano Music Academy in 2016, alongside Guillermo Reyes and Jesús Aquino, solidifying his role as an educator. In 2019, he took another step in the music industry by partnering with Tone The Angel (A.A) to create the record label Genesis Music Group (GMG).
As a composer and producer, Emilio has presented works that reflect his artistic identity. In 2020, he released his first EP, "Mistakes," a collection of five improvised piano pieces recorded in a single take, which earned him a nomination in 2021 at the Indie Dominican Awards for "Cuestión de Tiempo" in the Best Classical Music Song category. Following this line, in 2022 he released the singles "Inspiration" and the successful "Feelings," which has accumulated over 1.5 million streams on Amazon Music. In 2023, he continued exploring his sound with the launch of "Clarity" and the lo-fi project "Mr. Keys," demonstrating his versatility and ability to fuse genres. His most recent release, the single "Little Miracle," is now available on all digital platforms.
Emilio's stage experience is equally impressive. As a pianist, he was invited to open for Arcángel's concert at Quisqueya Stadium in June 2023, accompanying the band Caribelia after winning the first stage of the Presidente Studios contest. After moving to Miami, he has cultivated an important network of collaborations, sharing the stage with emerging talents and renowned figures, including participants from The Voice (like Cathia, Jorge Franco, Mafe, Yancy Abril, and The Voice Kids Season 3 winner: Jonael Santiago), Latin Grammy nominees (among them Pio Perilla, Ignacio Arocena, Marcela Cardenas, Bryan Martinez, Nicolle Horbath, and Luissette), and distinguished jazz musicians like Nicole Henry and Sachal Vasandani, performing with the Miami Music Project orchestra at the Miami Bandshell. He has also served as pianist and musical director for the George Harris Show accompanying artists like Fabiii and Mechy, and has shared the stage with figures such as Yuly Fabian, Mimi Rose, Cristian Silva, Bba, and The Unity 305.
His presence at major events extends to important festivals. In 2024, he was pianist and musical director for Dominican reggae artist Mechy's band at the renowned Calle 8 Festival. In 2025, they brought his talent to the Bajo la Luna Fest, where they had the opportunity to open the concert for international artists of the stature of Cultura Profética, Los Cafres, and Akapellah.
In addition to his artistic facet, Emilio has taken on key roles in large-scale music event production and management. In 2024, he served as Stage Manager Assistant at the Los Producers festival, contributing to the coordination of an event featuring acclaimed figures such as Juanes, Leonel García, Fonseca, Luis Fonsi, Mon Laferte, Cimafunk, Danny Ocean, among others. Expanding on this experience, in 2025 he was the Lead Vendor and Sponsor Coordinator for the UNSIN festival, managing vendors and sponsors for an event that included artists like Leo Rizzi, Robi, Darumas, Baltazar Lora, Puerto Candelaria, Kat Dahlia, and Alex Luna.
